The Problem
Everyone has customer testimonials. Almost nobody uses them well. Testimonial Genius turns unstructured praise into a marketing asset with no manual sorting.
Across the startups and agencies I have worked with, the same pattern showed up: praise scattered across Notion docs, Shopify exports, G2, and Google Reviews, just sitting there. Hidden in that mess are valuable patterns and high-converting quotes.
What It Does
You paste or upload raw testimonials and it extracts themes, ranks the best quotes, tags sentiment, and outputs a branded PDF or CSV in seconds.
The scope is deliberately narrow. I did not want another "chat with your data" tool where you have to know what to ask. I wanted opinionated UX built for a single use case: raw feedback in, marketing- ready report out, with clarity and polish.
The Build
The stack came together fast with AI-native tooling, and idea to a deployed, live product took three days.
A Next.js frontend generated largely with V0.dev, a FastAPI Python backend, and Gemini doing the theme extraction, quote curation, and sentiment tagging, with development running through Cursor. The real experiment was what a micro-SaaS can be when you keep it niche and useful from day one.
The Product Framework
I kept scope tight with a simple problem-promise-outcome framing, and measured every feature against whether it served one outcome.
The problem: businesses are sitting on testimonials they never use. The promise: turn them into clean, usable insights with no extra work. The outcome: reports you can drop straight into a pitch deck, landing page, or email campaign. That discipline is how a three-day build stays shippable instead of sprawling.
What I'd Do Differently
The hardest part of a three-day build is not shipping, it is finding out what you got wrong before a user tells you.
The obvious next steps are a quote-to-image feature for social sharing and direct integrations with Shopify and Google Reviews so the raw feedback never needs a manual export.
